Note that only credit cards issued by Visa and MasterCard are accepted on Moneytrans website. Prepaid cards that have not been issued directly by Moneytrans are not accepted. All debit and credit cards used to pay for transfers need to be authenticated using the 3-D Secure Technology, which requires a digipass provided by your bank.
How Moneytrans Home Transfer Works
Home transfer is a convenient way of sending money in the comfort of your home. You need to have internet access then submit Moneytrans form and other necessary documents signed and completed. Moneytrans will contact you after receiving your documents. To finalise the transaction, you need to make a deposit or transfer to Moneytrans bank account. After making the transfer, you need to call Moneytrans (you will find the number for your country on the website) or send the email to [email protected].
How to Receive Moneytrans Transfers
With Moneytrans your loved ones in the supported countries can receive the funds directly into their bank accounts. If your recipient doesn’t have a bank account, you can send the money to their mobile money wallets. Your recipient will receive a confirmation SMS when the money is delivered. If the two options are not available to your recipient, you can choose cash pickup option. There is also a non-monetary remittance option in form of airtime top up to supported mobile phone providers.
Moneytrans Fees
Moneytrans does not have a fixed fee. Your fee will depend on the country you are sending money from, receiving option for your beneficiary, destination country, and payment method. Sending 200 EUR to Ghana to a cash pickup location, the fee will be 5 EUR. Sending the same amount for cash pick up to South Africa, your fee will be 4 EUR. Use the fee calculator on the website or app to know in advance how much you will be charged for your transfer.
How Long Does Moneytrans Transfers Take?
Money transfers transacted on Moneytrans online platform to be received via mobile money wallets or cash pickup are most of the time available for collection instantly. This applies to airtime top up. Bank transfers usually take between 1 to 3 days. Although online bank transfer is slower than other payment options, the fees are lower. Some of the factors that may delay your transfers are the country of destination, the receiving method, any security clearances that may be applicable to destination country, and time differences. You will know, however, roughly how long your transfer will take before you complete your transaction.
Moneytrans Transfer Limits
Moneytrans imposes limits on the amount you can send at a given time. The maximum amount that you can send to your loved ones depends on the country you live in and the applicable regulations in the country of your beneficiary.
The amount you can send may also depend on your method of payment. Payments made with a debit card or credit card can be subject to maximum daily limits set out by your card provider.
To find out the maximum amount that you can send to a particular country, enter the amount you wish to send on the calculator available on the the website or app and you will be notified if you exceed the maximum amount.
